Supersized

Thick meat patty on a saucer-sized bun. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, special sauce the kind your mother wouldn’t make. Three cheeses, melted like lipstick on Miss May’s smile. Medium rare, made special. Side of fries, more salt than starch; a tower of cola for the ride home. Five dollars. Funeral’s tomorrow.
